The good bad and the delayed – One Room Challenge Week 4

Happy week 4 of One Room Challenge! I hope you’ve been enjoying checking out all the projects going on throughout the ORC guests!

If you’ve been following since week 1, we took on our downstairs half bathroom. We took the entire room down to the studs and started fresh. I’ve partnered with Bed Bath and Beyond for all of our fun bathroom items and with Riad Tile for our gorgeous flooring.

Current status:

I’m so excited because our Bed Bath and Beyond products started coming in the mail. I ended up ordering an extra mirror and an extra light fixture just in case. I think I’m going to go with my original choices but better safe than sorry. Surprise, I also decided to go with NO wallpaper. It was driving me crazy and just looked like too much.

The only problem is we haven’t received the most important piece yet — the vanity. We’re not beginner DIYers but we’re also not complete professionals over here so we wanted the vanity to be here before we started messing with the plumbing. Some of the pipes might have to be moved around etc. which is why the wall in that area is still open without sheetrock.

The rest of the room’s sheetrock is primed and ready to paint. Mike also sealed and grouted the beautiful Nola tiles so that’s ready to go as well. We can technically start adding the molding to the rest of the walls too. We may get that done in the next couple of days. Mike also put molding around the window and installed a new window sill.

We had to tape off and cover the floor really well so it didn’t get ruined. Also, another tip… tape plastic up in the door way when sanding the spackled walls before priming. The dust – omg.

I’m so so so excited to get the vanity. Let’s all hope it gets here in the next couple of days because I think Mike will have a fit if it doesn’t. Not going to lie… I might have a fit too. 🙂

I hope everyone’s rooms are coming along great! I hope we will have a ton more to show you next week! (Come on vanity)

In the meantime check out our week one, two, and three to see the progress. Also head over to see how the other guests are coming along! There are some awesome rooms happening!
