Easy space saving storage that your guests will thank you for!

“Where should I hang my coat?”

This is a question my guests were asking me for way too long! If you’re in the same boat as I am… you don’t have a coat closet.

I was having everyone who came over throw their jacket and belongings on top of the washing machine in the laundry room. How “decor blogger” of me! It beat the alternative of having my three dogs play tug-o-war with their shoes. Where someone will hang their coat is one of those things you don’t really think about until your guest asks and it leaves you stumped. Well, great news… it’s so simple! It will literally take you two steps to create a chic and useful coat hanging spot! (so throw out that ugly boring one you bought at wal-mart… jk. but no seriously)

I bought two main things in order to achieve this look!

  1. The storage bench
  2. The hooks

(Both of these items are from Home Goods)

Sometimes it is hard to find the exact same item you see posted at your local Home Goods. However, some of my followers have mentioned they saw this exact one at theirs so it’s worth a shot!

Another option you can do if you can’t find a bench like this one is a regular bench with an opening below where you can place some baskets! Picture a beautiful tufted or mid-century bench with some pretty baskets underneath where your guests can place their purses, shoes, and other belongings! YES!

Home Goods has TONS of options for the hooks! Not only do they sell already assembled pieces of wood and other materials with hooks attached, but they also sell individual hooks that you could place on your already owned item.

Other items you can buy to spruce up your coat hanging area are plants, a rug, books and wall art. If you’re not sure what to buy you can always e-mail me or direct message me on instagram for my opinion! [ [email protected] ]
