Yayyyyy! I’m so excited for the reveal of our half bathroom for ORC! That was so much fun. Let’s also be honest that participating in the One Room Challenge was a great way to keep hubby on track with the diys! Should I pretend that we’re always doing the One Room Challenge?
DIYing is one of those things that is so rewarding but can also be a little (a lot) stressful at times. I think joining the ORC is a reminder that we’re all in it together. We all deal with delayed product deliveries and late nights so that obviously makes us family. If you’ve been interested in doing the One Room Challenge definitely join in as a guest in the Spring! In the meantime head over to check out all the guest participants for Fall 2017!
Before we get to the good stuff I want to say thank you to House Beautiful and Linda of Calling it Home. Thank you to Candis and Andy of Home Love Network for checking out all of our rooms as well!
Thank you Bed Bath & Beyond and Riad Tile for your partnership on this project!
…and onto the reveal!
Just in case you’re just joining in on my One Room Challenge journey (the very best time to join in) I want to provide the links back to my previous ORC Week posts.
(before and afters at the bottom)
Week 1 – Before & Ideas
Week 2 – Demo + Tips
Week 3 – Nola Tile Install
Week 4 – Vanity Delay
Week 5 – Vanity Install
Week 6 – Almost done!
Week 7 – HERE WE ARE!
When we first started I totally had it in my mind that I was going to put wallpaper up on the wall behind the sink. I have no idea why. I mean I guess it was a good thought but it would’ve just been too much! By week 3 I pretty much already had my mind made up that I wasn’t going to do wallpaper anymore. In case that wasn’t enough for me, I checked in with my friend Natasha who is also doing the ORC guest challenge and she agreed. (thanks girl) See! That’s what this is all about! Coming together to make pretty rooms.
don’t worry here come the photos
After
There’s something different you may notice about the vanity… If you answered “handles” you are correct. Late Tuesday night (1am) I decided that I was annoyed that the handles were silver and the rest of the accessories were black and gold. Sooooo I spray painted them. SO if you order this vanity just know that the handles WILL come silver. 🙂
I’m still not done obbsessing over the Nola tiles from Riad Tile. They are to.die.for!
I loveeee this fixture from Bed Bath and Beyond! It add a little modern edge to the bathroom. I decided to place it in between the sink and toilet because it felt really odd over the toilet. It couldn’t go anywhere else because of the door. I almost wanted to switch it last minute on Tuesday and Mike gave me that look like “You’ve gone too far crazy woman”.
Etsy prints are a great way to add art to your room at a low cost. All of the art I used in this bathroom can be bought on Etsy. That’s also something else I changed last minute. I actually ran to Staples this morning to print the bottom nudey print. I’m really glad I went with my gut and got it last minute. Yay Etsy! Shop below.
Tell me this isn’t a cute idea for the bathroom! I found this little bathroom guest book at World Market and new I had to have it for our new half bath. I took the opportunity to be the first one to write in it during ORC posting 🙂
I decided to go with the green accents last minute as well. I think my name is last minute. The towels and rug are by Nate Berkus. All items can be shopped at the bottom of the blog
This was such a mish-mosh bathroom before. It was where my ideas went to die. #ideagraveyard
Let’s start with the biggest upgrade! The ceiling. Does any like popcorn ceiling? I feel like popcorn ceiling is the Croc of the design world. N-O-B-O-D-Y likes it. (not hating on crocs). Actually everything was a big change now that I’m looking.
Thank you so much for checking out our bathroom DIY for One Room Challenge. This was such a fun experience and I hope to do it again in the Spring!

November 29, 2017 at 10:09 amWhile wainscoting/two different colors is a popular look, your redo shows us that one color can expand a space and keep the eye moving. Also incredible is how replacing a pedestal sink with a vanity actually makes this room look bigger! Great job on all your choices and installs, especially the jazzy tile on the floor!
